This optical phenomenon is called a glory halo, caused by water droplets in the cloud and the sunlight shining directly down from behind onto the cloud surface below, though the shadow of my head, which would typically be at the center of the rainbow halo, is apparently lost at this distance, peeking far beyond the mountains’ shadow.
