Five foot plus Juniper growing on the edge of an Aspen grove, a common association between the two longest living local species, taking into account Aspens clonal lifeway. A bit surprising if you’re used to thinking of Junipers on wind swept glacial scoured ridgetops, and Aspens in the damp meadowy areas. Wonder what it was like right here seven hundred years ago, or whatever, when this Juniper was a sapling?
