…but what we couldnt tell till we got here is that the bottom was quite discontinuous. We had already invested quite a bit of time and energy getting this far though, so might as well give her a go. Plus it’s April Fools Day, so there’s that. As it turned out we spun around at the sunlit reddish outcrops visible here 2/3 of the way up, which are also visible in the prior photo, at the base of the more continuous snow. Oh well
