The burn scar from the Angora Fire of June 2007 is still quite raw, but at least it didnt burn the CCC fire lookout on the ridgetop, built in the Great Depression of the 1930’s as part of the public works program providing jobs for the numerous unemployed. Back when ‘By the people, for the people’ meant something.
