Lake Aloha, elevation 8116′, was first damed in 1875, and subsequently expanded in 1917, drowning most of the Medley Lakes. Cool old dam, as such things go, quite small for the amount of water it, along with several smaller auxiliary dams, impounds in this conducive location. Folks had figured out these glaciated areas were conducive to reservoirs and couldnt hardly contain themselves from asserting their dominion over nature anywhere they could. Starting to look like nature will get the final word after all.
