Funny tracks, you can see my fresh scratchings on top of an old track now raised in relief, following along our usual route, reckon I know who left it
I backed up to a convenient exposed snag and had a seat where it was protected, feeling at home, still following that old track. Funny how just breaking a trail here was enough compaction to make the snow withstand the gale force winds eroding the loose snow away all around it. Snow is such a delicate thing, yet it tears down mountain ranges.

The Hemlock boughs at bottom right are being torn away from the snowpack as it settles, indicative of how much snow we have gotten recently. The road through Emerald Bay just opened after a month long closure.
