My tracks are just visible, skiing down blind into this secluded nook in the heart of our Sierra, to the big perennial glide crack in the puke chute, to go see if it was passable, then bailing, predictably enough, and booting back up, to traverse skier’s left above the cliffband and more glide cracks, for choice steep headwall turns to the lake below. This is the freedom fitness and skills give one in the mountains, but the next time, I scoped it before I tried to ski it, though it’s half a days hike just to get a look at it.
