California Red Fir (Abies magnifica) with a high Staghorn or Wolf’s Lichen (Letharia vulpina) snow line, here in this high, shady snow forest, which is carpeted for much or most of every year. These four or five foot diameter specimens are likely well over five hundred years old. #Dendrochronology
